Stuart Tym

Stuart is a Planning Partner at Shoosmiths within the Real Estate Team. He has over 15 years experience of planning from both the private and public sector, with a particular expertise in enabling developments and enforcement work, as well as compulsory purchase, the negotiation of complex s.106 agreements, and judicial review.

He acts for a wide variety of clients, including house-builders, land promoters, development companies, retail developers, and investment funds. His public sector work has included advising both district (s.106, affordable housing and viability, planning inquiries and enforcement matters) and county-level planning authorities (waste, coal, minerals, highways) and has been acquired in both a “shared service” and a unitary environment.
