One of the UK’s most respected environmental academics and commentators. Bob is Head of the Law School and the Director of the Centre for Legal Education and Research at the University of Birmingham.
He has acted as specialist adviser to the European Parliament, the European Commission, the House of Commons and the National Assembly for Wales and has worked for the Department for the
Environment in Northern Ireland (drafting environmental legislation), the Irish Environment Protection Agency, the UN Environment Programme and the UN Development Programme.
In the UK, he has undertaken research projects on the regulation of technologies for both the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in environmental and planning law. He was formerly a partner and head of environmental law at an international law firm in the City of London.
His practice encompasses a full range of environmental and planning law. He has particular expertise in contaminated land, waste and environmental insurance.
He often advises other solicitors where their firm does not have the necessary in-house expertise.
Andrew is the author of the Law Society Environmental Law Handbook and a chapter author of the Law Society Conveyancing Handbook.
Sue qualified into the Real Estate Department of Linklaters in September 1983, handling investment work, major development projects and advising landlords and tenants of commercial property.
From 2002 until recently, she headed up the Real Estate PSL service, with particular interest in training and precedent development.
Simon has over 25 years’ experience as an environmental lawyer which has included working in local government and for a major manufacturing company. For 12 years he has run an MSc module on Environmental Policy and Law.
He is the chapter author (Information Sources and Environmental Reports) of Contaminated Land by Stephen Tromans and a chapter author of Wilderness Protection in Europe (2016).
Hannah is a Senior Flood Risk Consultant with 4 years’ experience within the flood industry.
Hannah spearheads the development of flood risk services at Argyll Environmental, and recently has co-authored an eBook entitled “An introduction to flood risk” which provides guidance and advice surrounding flood risk across the industry.
