Stephen Poole
Stephen advises landowners on capital and income taxes and helps with thinking about how to plan under the new agricultural payment landscape. He has spent many years in central technical offices of large firms, Mazars and PwC, and moved up to Newcastle in 2006 purely because Northumbria is a wonderful part of the country. Until January 2020, he was a tax director in Baldwins (now Azets), and part of the agricultural team. He headed up probate work in the north-east and handled several agricultural estates.
Stephen’s other main passion is wildlife and has spent a lot of time thinking about how taxes impact on activities involving the natural world such as farming landed estates and wildlife charities. He is passionate about rewilding and advising firms on the tax implications and how to restructure and agricultural business to introduce rewilding processes.
